SIXTH FORM APPLICATIONS

Applications for entry to the Sixth Form in September 2025 open on 1st November 2024 and close on 31st March 2025. Applications must be made via Kent Choices (including existing St Anselm's students).

SIXTH FORM ADMISSIONS

If you are applying to St Anselm's from another school please also complete the Supplementary Information Form click here.  Please note that failure to submit a completed Supplementary Information Form when applying for a sixth form school place under criteria 1, 2 or 3 of the oversubscription criteria may result in your application not being placed in the correct category and could result in you not receiving an offer of a place. Before completing this form, please read the Admissions Policy and Procedure for 2024/25 which can be found on the academy’s website here. Please also ensure that you have read the academy’s Privacy Notice, which can be found on the academy’s website here. Please note that if you are not offered a place and submit an appeal, a copy of this form will be submitted to the Appeal Panel.

APPLICATION TIMELINE 

  • Applications open via Kent Choices on Friday 1st November 2024.
  • Sixth Form Open Evening - Tuesday 19th November 2024, starting at 6.00pm with speeches in the main hall.  The event closes at 8.00pm. Free parking is available at the New Dover Road Park & Ride.  (If you are unable to attend, please contact r.seery@st-anselms.org.uk for a Sixth Form Information Pack). To see a Powerpoint of last year's Sixth Form Open Evening Presentation (November 2023) click here.
  • Sixth Form Taster Day for Year 11 students - Tuesday 28th January 2025 (if you are interested in the taster day and are currently in Year 11 at another school please contact r.seery@st-anselms.org.uk)
  • Interviews for applicants from other schools - March 2025 
  • Ordering preferences - Kent Choices will contact students - Easter 2025
  • Sixth Form Induction Days - July 2025
  • Sixth Form Enrolment Days:   GCSE results day (Thursday 21st August 2025)  & additional days.

SUMMER WORK

We ask that you come prepared for sixth form by completing some work in your chosen subjects,once your exams are over and before the start of the Autumn term. Examples of this by may be accessed here but please note this may be updated in July.

KCC 16+ Travel Card

The 16+ Travel Card allows students over the age of 16 who are in education or training, unlimited bus travel in Kent at any time, including evenings, weekends and holidays. To be eligible, students must:-

  • Live in Kent,
  • Attend a participating school, college or work-based training provider,
  • Have a genuine need to travel to undertake their education.

The cost of the card is £600 and allows the holder unlimited bus travel in Kent (and on direct bus services crossing the county boundary, e.g. to Medway and East Sussex, where the card holder either boards or alights within the administrative boundary of Kent County Council) including evenings, weekends and holidays.

To apply for a pass, you will need to apply directly to Kent County Council and pay online using a debit/credit card.  You will also need to upload a passport style digital photograph.

16-19 Bursary Fund

We would not want any child to be prevented from attending St. Anselm's Sixth form as a result of the cost of transport.  Financial assistance is available if your total household income is below £26,938 per annum.

To apply for Bursary Assistance, please print and complete the application form below and submit it to Mrs Dunne, Sixth Form Support Officer.  You will need to enclose a copy of your Tax Credit Award dated within the past 9 months.  This must be a full award and not partial.

All bursary applications will be treated in confidence.
