Welcome Masses - 27 september 2019
Mrs Weston Curriculum Manager for Religious Education - The students and staff took an active part in the welcome mass. The readings and hymns were well received by all. There was a timely reminder about bringing in tins for the food bank. Much has been received so far thank you for all of your contributions. We were also reminded about CAFOD fast day which took place the following week. Three jars of change was collected. Thank you!
Charlie Cusden, 10 M - The Welcome Mass was to welcome everyone for the new academic year, especially the new Year 7’s. A number of students helped to write prayers for the Chaplain. I nervously, but confidently, read out. Miss Penfold, Tara (the other House Council Rep) and I read the prayer of the faithful. “We pray for more people to have the courage to speak out for the injustices in our world, especially for the poor and climate change”.
This mass was to also wish Year 11 and 13’s well on their exams, reflecting on worldly affairs and praying for our loved ones in times of need.
