Y12 Art workshop

Mrs Tucker Curriculum Manager for Art - The Year 12 Fine Art A-Level group took part in a workshop at the Turner Contemporary with other EKST schools. It was a powerful day spent looking and discussing the work on display, which was by the Four Turner Prize nominees. The students worked in groups with other schools to ask the Curator questions and share ideas. They were shown how to do warm up exercises and then to respond to art work with initial thoughts only to help them with confidence and the ability to speak well in front of others. The afternoon was spent presenting their groups ideas in original and very impressive ways to the rest of the students and to the passing public in the gallery. 

They all gave very impressive talks about the art work which was very challenging indeed. This has given them confidence to consider entering the ARTiculation nationwide Public Speaking competition.
